Adios Karma

Art by Maria Chambers

No doubt you’ve heard that in light of the Christ Consciousness, all karma is absolved.  Personally it feels almost as good as when the library used to waive all late fines.  There is no more karmic debt unless someone is really enjoying it and wants to keep it going for personal reasons.

In case anyone is unclear about what exactly we are letting go of, I will give a simple, and brief definition and history here.

Karma is the belief that there is a debt to be paid for past transgressions.    For example, if we  were wealthy in a past life and abused our power or status, the next time around we were probably a serf or a slave to someone pretty mean.  That even applies to bosses and employees, spouses, parents and kids, and you can just use your imagination for the rest.

There are two different plans available.  There’s the individual and there is the group plan.  The individual one is what I described above.  The group plan involves groups of people.  Those groups can manifest as different races, different sexual orientations, or genders.

For instance, the Jews took on some heavy karmic guilt.  They gave themselves the Holocaust.  The Blacks decided to embody the shadow side of humanity for quite a while.  Homosexuals gave themselves aids, and women really gave themselves a bum deal.

Karma is pretty much a man-made idea, and it served a purpose up until it got really boring.

I think we all learned our lessons.  If we send out some bad vibes, we get to see the consequences.  In fact, we get to live them.

But we are really moving past the eye for an eye concept.  We got intimate with the consequences of our actions.  We get that everyone attracts their own reality, both victim and perpetrator.  Now we’re moving into taking total responsibility for our own happiness.  Probably the biggest challenge to date.

Why?  Because it means we can’t use any excuses anymore.  We can’t blame it on our ancestors, our parents, or humanity.  We can no longer use karma the way it was intended.    We are left with our own mind, flailing around, not sure what strategy it can latch onto.  I mean, there’s nothing left.  Not even the excuse we have been using for eons of time:  that we are a bad person and god is punishing us.  (A more religious approach to karma).

The guilt is simply limping along…no longer holding its own.

Yes, great news!  But, and yes….there’s always a BUT.  But what if we let go entirely of any feelings of guilt or remorse?  Does that mean we are uncaring monsters?  So we feel guilty for not feeling guilty.  We wonder, what fresh karmic hell awaits us for having the audacity to let go of guilt, shame and all those feelings of obligation?

Well, maybe it’s not more guilt we feel, but fear.  I mean…now we get to do what we want, or not do anything if we want.  All this joy  begins to bubble up, with no price to pay?    This does not compute, at least not to our brain.

What does all this mean on a personal level, when it comes to our every day life?

Well, it means no one is watching.  The authorities are not coming to take you away.  In fact, you’re not even in their radar.

It feels like I still have some residual stuff around authority.  Whenever a police car is driving behind me, my heart beats faster, and I wonder what I did wrong.  I’m convinced they are going to pull me over.

But, as we let go of karma, it pretty much requires of us to leave humanity and our own history in our rear view mirror.   We are not going to be able to take any guilt or sense of duty, obligation, or indebtedness with us where we’re going.

Now, that’s the good news, but there’s always the option of getting an extended plan, keeping that karmic wheel going.  But I’m sensing no one here wants that option.  You know what you do when those companies send you letters in the mail encouraging you to get an extended warranty on your car or your washing machine:  Put that karma in the ‘circular file.’

Thanks! It seems addio is the Italian version, but in usage it means “Goodbye forever—I don’t want to see you anymore.” (Can you tell I’m an editor?) Anyway, a great article!

I recently wrote a post which someone else summarized by saying “so we can now let go of friendship merely because there is no joy in them.” Yes, seems so obvious but part of me is still shaking a bit saying, really? Just cause there is no joy. When I tried to buck this for a dear friend and keep interacting in a way that brought no joy, I literally got a headache that told me no go, honey. It’s her or me and you better choose me. Still a play in progress. I keep saying, we are not in Kansas anymore.

    1. Yes, Savannah…yep, it is in progress…certainly not an overnight process. And it’s sometimes wading through all the resistance to self love. Which, that kind of love goes against everything we were taught, especially as women. And in the place we are, it DOES come down to…”it’s her or me, and you better choose me.” And as we know, that decision benefits all.

  4. Nice One, Maria!

    Yes, Karma…….our old adversary.

I feel that rather than all Karma being absolved, it is more like Karma becomes an irrelevant notion to the evolving human.

I realised that Karma was nonsense when I understood (and I don’t mean with my mind… It was an experience…) that there is no time other than NOW.

Karma is all about the past, this lifetime’s past and the past of other lifetimes (most of which we don’t even remember!!!!)

A method to make us, yet again, feel that it is all our/their own fault. Or an easy way to squirm out of feeling bad/sad about someone else’s dreadful predicament and perhaps also to avoid helping.

This is just a verrrrry….. lonnnnng….. extennnnsion….. of ‘you create your own reality’ which I personally perceive as bullshit (in the way it is peddled by the ‘new’ age) designed solely to make us feel guilty and crush our reasonable anger at other peoples’ bad or shocking actions, perversions, dominations.

I agree, Maria, a man-made IDEA. And you are SO right that once we evolve out of victim/blame/guilt mentality (disempowering CONCEPTS, not truths) it can’t be used in the way it was intended.

Ha ha, that thing about the police in your mirror!! I agree that we leave it all in the rear view mirror, but I just would like to let you all know that I SMASHED my rear view mirror!! Because I choose not to take out an extended plan. You are bang on, Maria, I don’t want that ludicrous option. Karma goes in my trash can.

    Addio Karma!!!

Love you all so much, fellow evolvers xxx

i guess i think of “karma” a little differently. i don’t see it so much as random things that come back around from things we aren’t responsible for or are long since disconnected from(i.e. past lives). i see it as an energy that comes back around to get you to do “mirror work”, and to take accountability for the energy you put out into the world. and i think in the 3rd dimension it’s actually pretty necessary and purposeful because people who are not very conscious are generally irresponsible with their energy and not very good at being accountable for it. to simplify what i mean, i think i see karma as lessons that come to people who are not taking responsibility for the energy, and it comes back around to encourage growth.

hope that makes sense? 🙈 i actually have kind of an appreciation for it in a way. like i personally have been able to see the the threads between things i experience coming back around and have been able to let them encourage me to become a better version of myself. and i also think i hope there is some sort of “karmic energy” that comes back around to people who have hurt me and have never taken responsibility for the pain they caused, so that they have some sort of self-realization and become better and no longer hurt anyone else in their life like that going forward.

so yes i think i’m thinking of it in terms of being needed in the 3d where people are not self-aware enough to choose their own growth, but again, i guess i do have a lil’ bit of an appreciation for it 💟

    1. Hi sweet pea, Yes I agree with you that it is useful in 3d, but seems irrelevant once we evolve. When we don’t realise that time is not linear, we are in time and so karma is still relevant. And possibly effective. And probably unavoidable too. I do mean for us as evolved/evolving beings it loses all relevance. Big love X x x

yes totally agree. i do think i am purely thinking of it in terms of 3d. i think it’s one of the tools that helps people “become better humans”, and to me ascension is past the whole “being a better human” and instead about growing in the soul…spirit work instead of character development. i think i just still feel so surrounded by people in this world who are still in the ” character development” process, that i hope karma is still doing some good 😋
