The Mind And The Illusion of Power

Art by Maria Chambers

We are all too aware that the mind loves trying to figure things out.  But those of us on the ascension trajectory are discovering that the less we try to figure things out, the better. And we know that the mind is hell-bent on wanting to sustain its position of  power and control.

But, we are also discovering that power is an illusion.  That an outside force can’t really destroy the soul.  The soul is eternal, and doesn’t use power to create.  Yet, because mankind has denied its own god-self, it has subscribed to the belief in power, and in the importance of attaining it and maintaining and wielding it.

We also recognize that the need for power and control is based in fear.  The mind, by its nature, is fear-filled.

All we need to do is look at the world outside our door to see how the fearful mind is playing out its attempts at power and control.  When we look at the history of humanity we can see trends in which strides are made in consciousness, in human rights, only to be followed by a backlash of conservatism and fear.

We see it being played out beautifully in the current administration here in the United States.  That fearful mind will do whatever it takes to gain back control, taking down anyone in its path.

And wielding its propaganda-based fear rhetoric for those who are willing to swallow it, much like the Kool-aid provided by Jim Jones to his sheeple.

We shake our heads, wondering how people of seeming intelligence can be swayed by such rhetoric and not see through to the hypocrisy.

Again, it’s that intelligent mind that wants control, and wants to protect itself from annihilation at any cost.  It’s been the foundation of the toxic patriarchy for a very, very long time.

“When people are in fear, they don’t want change, they don’t want more freedom, they want protection.”

When people are in fear, they don’t want change, they don’t want more freedom, they want protection.  Of course, the enemy is really in their mind, not out there in another race, gender, or country.  Those are the type of people who are most comfortable with an authoritarian regime.

Those are the people who would be shouting, “Lock her up!” (Hillary Clinton) Because the feminine, the broader perspective, is too threatening.

In this case, the patriarchy feels in the Feminine something that they consider powerful.   Something they themselves are not able to access, that all the might in the world couldn’t access.   Which puts them at a distinct disadvantage.

The frustration translates into anger toward the feminine.  And it’s not just toward the female gender, but toward anything and everything that embodies that feminine perspective.

Both men and women can feel trapped in a life perspective that is devoid of the Divine Feminine.

And the anger and need to control is based in feelings of unworthiness.  It’s an old, galactic story.

All the things we see the masculine perpetrating against the feminine, from the most egregious to the most subtle, are based in deep feelings of unworthiness.

The masculine doesn’t believe he can access the feminine in himself, and on the deepest of levels he knows that is the elixir for his own freedom.  So he is angry.  And anger often is a veil that shrouds other emotions, such as sadness, feeling vulnerable, feeling abandoned.

The masculine has been taught that appearing vulnerable is a fate worse than death itself.  And yet, being vulnerable is a critical component of being open to love and joy.

So, anger is an energy that hides other emotions.

It hides a broken heart.  It hides guilt and shame.  It’s easier to project the anger than to reflect inwardly, which takes much more courage.

The toxic masculine recognizes that courage in the feminine, and wants to stop her.  He wants to “Lock her up!”

The toxic masculine sees its power as the illusion that it is.  He knows how exhausting it has become to sustain the appearance of being strong.  Of having power.

On the deepest level, he knows that true strength is not about aggression, competition, being stoic, guns, or virility.

In the Feminine he sees a countenance, a quiet confidence.  He sees a sensuality he himself yearns for, but instead interprets it in sexual terms.  He instead sees the Feminine as trying to provoke or seduce him.

He sees her as being able to have an emotional intimacy that eludes him.  Instead of going within himself, he accuses her of being too sensitive.

And of course, a woman who is prey to her own emotional state couldn’t be trusted in positions of such power as the presidency.

And yet, as crime statistics show us, the male gender is far more unable to control their emotions of anger and rage.  But we know that it springs from denying their emotions, their feelings of vulnerability, in the first place.

So, we can see that whenever there is progress in societies, whenever the feminine begins to become more present in the consciousness, there is a fear response that comes around the corner.  And it can take many forms.

And to be clear, this fear can reside in both genders.  In all genders.

Those of us here on the planet at this time, who are in the forefront of change,  are providing a consciousness of balance.  We are in the process of releasing the old mind, the mind that held onto fear.  Because moving forward, the human species can’t afford to take the old, fear filled mind with them, or a hopeful future could not be guaranteed.

Our lives are like great paintings or great pieces of music. If we focus on all the technical 'imperfections' we will miss the true beauty of the work. We won't see, or rather, FEEL the essence and spirit of the masterpiece. I no longer identify myself as a writer, artist, or musician. Rather I express my divinity, and my humanity through the media of art, music and writing. I began this blog because I wanted to give voice to my experiences and insights, and I wrote for myself primarily. Almost a decade later, I am still writing for myself, and I am discovering that my experiences are not personal but universal - galactic even. And now I am more sure than ever that I am a new consciousness teacher, as each of you are. The way we teach is by going through the very human experiences, and as we ascend and shed our old selves, with love, and as we embody spirit in this lifetime, which we are all doing, we become the standards for others of the new divine human.

  5. Amen!

I often contemplate labels like divine masculine and Divine Feminine. Labels are very useful actually. while in space, time and, in these, also residing in a human monkey body and and human monkey brain, we are disconnected from eternal confluence of totality of creation; limited, Ironically by space, time and a slow arduous brain. So labels make it easy to package a complex concept and slow it down for us…we the monkey tribe that just happened to have made it to the top of the food chain (God/Goddess help us)

I try to make it a habit to break things down to simpler concepts that are beyond bias and polarization. You did this already in your wonderful article.

As you clearly implied, we are all subject to this thing called human nature. And if the concepts behind the labels of divine masculine and Divine Feminine are allowed to animate within the human monkey life we are living, then he/she would evolve (as spirit evolves).

The planet is a toxic mess! Human nature subverts the divine (of either gender), and we suffer for it in so many ways (body, mind and spirit). Of all that I have lived, realizing this devastates me the most.

And yet, here I am…in hypocrisy (and it kills me sometimes…buries me deeply in paralysis). I am a hypocrite, because I live this human life with a nature shared with all the very high and low of our species. When I see the land…the filth upon it, I cringe. When I eat the food boxed on shelves and loaded with chemicals I have no idea where it came from, then I get sick. I type on this computer the making of which contributes to terrible toxic run off into the living waters of river and sea…of all the oceans, and it vexes me. My spirit rebells.

Yet I must live and eat to be here (By the way, there is a saying, “Don’t eat where you shit.”). I buy my computers…and have to garner a living by using one. I have to drive all around administering medical care to the sick and dying, and while doing so I am always in view of the land…littered. And though I place all my garbage in designated receptacles, I know it goes to a land fill upon which the ran falls…and more run off into our water wells. I drink that water.

I pray…to the Mother and Father (creation) that we get it before it’s too late. That the human nature we all live with will animate, finally, with what is greater than this we are living in/with now…that we survive and express better of ourselves regardless of the gender we inhabit.

Let it be so, I pray. Amen.

    • I hear you, my friend. There is a perspective that the Earth will be divided eventually into separate Earths, where some humans will have an opportunity to continue living in and exploring the lower, denser vibrations while others will have the opportunity, through their own inner work and awakening process, to move into a more balanced Earth.

Because as much as the mind has difficulty wrapping itself around it, nothing is what it seems on the physical levels. There are things happening interdimensionally that the human isn’t aware of. As we on the forefront of this process move out of the time/space reality we were so entrenched within, we have more options available to us.

      It’s kind of fascinating, really.

  6. I get a “Feel” for what you mention, but it won’t yet crystalize in any solid image in my “Mind.” I’m very mind oriented (fear, angst…all that stuff). But I’m highly empathic…so I do feel things very deeply (and it short circuits my life a great deal.

Which Earth would I choose? I’d definitely wanna go for the one that leaves “All This” behind, yet…That empathic part of me would grieve I think, for the thought of it grieves me even as I pose the question. “Make ‘This’ Better,” it says (It being Spirit”).

The vexation of the hypocrisy I live with day in and day out does motivate me to this end…”Make ‘This’ Better.” It’s like walking on hot coals; feet burning, yet…they are not yet destroyed…just numb and brittle. I can still wiggle my toes though.

Recycle. Don’t waste. Curb the trends to upgrade every second. Wait two or three years to upgrade my phone (instead of every time the new and better comes out); eat organic…compost…Pray and touch spirit (and let it touch me); listen to the still small voice even as my “Mind” SCREAMS in agony…and listen…follow its directions (or pay the price and learn the lessons that teach better listening). Have faith…and keep trying anyway despite the limitations I placed myself in by being here. Easy? NO! (YES). SPIRIT SAYS IT IS, but Human monkey brain wants a new car (to replace the one I bought last year).

ROFL….We’ll get there either way…which Ever Earth we choose (I love The Mother…she is so gorgeous!). We’ll get there…one dedicated denial of self severing and preserving ego is one step up to the new Earth. Ego can actually help us…if she/he is exalted to include THE ALL of us (all beings…Sun and moon, Earth…the air between you and I…stone and fish…and bird…all “Being(s) Create!”

We are all in this together.

Thanks “Soul Soother.” You have the perfect Tag

    • And thank you My friend, for your insights. Indeed, “we’ll get there either way.” BTW, speaking of hot coals, I did the Firewalk with Tony Robbins in the 80s. (His FEAR INTO POWER workshop) I made it across without even a blister, but the following day I ran for the hills after seeing some carpenter 🐜 ants in my apartment. Go figure. 🤗💕
