For those awakening divine humans

Releasing Religion And Embracing The God Within

Religion and the church have done and continue to do wonderful things for communities, reaching out to assist those in need.  Assisting the poor and most vulnerable.  I have watched faith healers helping hundreds of people to heal their body.  There is no doubt in my mind that organized religion has been an appropriate institution in the world, as have smaller types of faith groups that have assisted humanity in their own way.

Most of us on the ascension path have been part of a religious organization either in this lifetime and or in many other lifetimes.  And it has served us.  But we also recognized that it limited us.  We wanted to know.  We wanted to know much more than what was taught to us, in convents, in monestaries.  In Sunday school.  Much more than what was in the Bible.  Or in other so-called sacred scriptures.

So for those who are moving headlong into their ascension, letting go of religion is part of the process.  Especially if the religion or faith requires one or all of the following.

If the particular faith or religion claims that theirs is the only way to go, or that god is outside of self.

If the religion insists that there is good and evil.  If there are rules and regulations that must be observed in order to be protected from ‘evil.’

if it tells you that you are born a sinner, and that you have been ‘forgiven’ for your sins by Jesus Christ. Or that he is the Savior.

if it says women are not equal in the eyes of god.

Or that a woman has no right to control her own body and cannot determine her own reproductive choices.

If god must be worshipped above all else.  If it says god is above you, or is greater than you.

If only a man and a woman can have sex together and be married.

If it condemns the human body and all the sensual aspects of physical reality.

Or that suffering in any way is a requisite to being in god’s good graces.

If god is judging you, or anyone else.  If god knows everything.

Any and all of these disqualify religion from coming into the new energy.  What that means is we are taking TOTAL responsibility for our own creations.  There is no one else to blame.  God cannot save us.  We are god.

It means we are magnificent and deserving beings, regardless of what we consider our flaws, or our actions.

I am not condemning religion, but I am saying that the Christ consciousness does not support it.  Again, religion has its place, and it is totally appropriate for many people.

But for those who are serious about their enlightenment, it will require them to drop any ideas that have to do with sin or guilt, or seeing themselves as being controlled by any outside force, whether it’s god, or the state, any group, or any man, woman, or child.

Of course, you can take the person out of church, but it’s not so easy getting the church out of the person.  We notice that even within the spiritual, new age community, there are still religious overlays.

There is still the notion that there will be a reckoning.  That there will be a judgement levied on those who do ‘better’ than others, those who are more ‘enlightened’ will be rewarded by some external entity or force.

Or there are outside forces who are trying to deceive us, like Christianity’s devil.  that there are dark forces working behind the scenes to destroy the light.

That we will be ‘saved’ by Aliens.  That somehow, they are wiser and more advanced than we humans are.

Even the notion that we are on a journey, or are searching….that is an old religious idea.  Because searching just leads to more searching.

These are all appropriate steps in the awakening process of course, but there comes a point where it all has to go.  Because there is no god outside, and there is no search, or lessons, unless we want there to be.

But if we believe that we are still learning, and still need lessons, that’s what we will attract.

God’s recomPENCE

As we become more conscious, and it’s an unfolding, an allowing, there is less need for extreme events in our life,  we no longer need the wake up calls like we did before.  There is less acting out of the unconscious.

There is just choice. Where do we want to place our attention?  Onto the human mind?  Or onto the soul nature that we also are?

And in the new energy, it becomes less and less comfortable to pay too much attention to the mind’s fears and concerns.

The dark side of religion is no secret, as we can see how historically the religious zealots attempted to suppress others and enforce their faith onto people and groups.

I am sure I was burned at the stake a few times in the past.  To this day I hate the smell of woodsmoke!

As we become conscious creators, we recognize that even today religion can be used to bolster the human in their attempt to project their unconscious issues onto others, whether it is toward women, blacks, people of color, or those in the LGBT community.

We see how religion can be a way to stay in the comfort zone of the mind, of not going within, and not taking responsibility for oneself.  Many cling to it regardless of the fact that its messages have become outdated.

And they cling to it regardless of the fact that much of it has been manufactured by the mind, not by the I AM.

But it’s a safety zone, because it’s mostly created by the mind.  The mind loves rules and regulations and controls, so what better way to express that than through religion?  Most religions of the world use fear as a control tactic.

So it’s no surprise that as the Christ Consciousness infiltrates the planet we are seeing a stepping up of the religious rights groups, and how they are fervently trying to re-establish their place in the patriarchy.

They are losing control of their lives and they believe that they need protection not only by god, but by the government.  But they will come to discover that neither can protect them.  That when they are truly ready for their freedom, they will not need any such protection.

They will discover that Jesus is not coming back to save anyone, that there is no vindictive god.  But that there is the human, who is scared.  And that there is a way out.  The human will have to let go of the story.

And they will have to claim their own god within.

Our lives are like great paintings or great pieces of music. If we focus on all the technical 'imperfections' we will miss the true beauty of the work. We won't see, or rather, FEEL the essence and spirit of the masterpiece. I no longer identify myself as a writer, artist, or musician. Rather I express my divinity, and my humanity through the media of art, music and writing. I began this blog because I wanted to give voice to my experiences and insights, and I wrote for myself primarily. Almost a decade later, I am still writing for myself, and I am discovering that my experiences are not personal but universal - galactic even. And now I am more sure than ever that I am a new consciousness teacher, as each of you are. The way we teach is by going through the very human experiences, and as we ascend and shed our old selves, with love, and as we embody spirit in this lifetime, which we are all doing, we become the standards for others of the new divine human.

  1. I had a past life regression and remembered being burnt at the stake.

    • Whew. I’m sure you are in good company, Sherry. I don’t doubt that many of us met an untimely demise at the hands of religious zealots. Any of us with dissenting perspectives from the church’s, were considered witches, heathens, or worse.

They call it the dark ages for a reason. There was unilateral rejection of the occult, or anything that appeared to be beyond the thinking of the church.

It brings new meaning to the expression, “I’ll take my medium, rare.”

  2. Well, Maria…you hit every essential nail on the head about religion! Damn, Girl! You are on fire (but sorry about the past lives being burned…I actually have one of those past life memories only I was hung for infidelity while the no account so and so got off the hook…bastard. I’m married to him again…LOL! He got his the following life, and this time…it’s even playing).

OK. My mind is going in a thousand different directions with this one (which is fun)! Quick story.

I’ve mentioned my stint working in a prison for two and a half years. Up until that point, I was engaging any and all spiritual concepts I could bring to bare on the situation, for that place hit me holistically…but particularly spiritually. I was raised Christian (Staunch Cooneyite mother and Maternal family and father was a very agnostic Adventist). These are were I learned to pray, and I prayed a lot in my life before my prison job, but I prayed hourly during this prison job. It was brutal.

Anyway, about two years into this job, I was the most anxious I’d ever been. I mean…I was praying…looking for signs, checking astrological placements of stars and planets; seeking number synchronicities…you name it! And I was in a great deal of spiritual distress.

In all this, One after-noon I got a bonafide vision. I mean…I was calling on Christ during this particular time of tremendous destress, and I REALLY needed help. BAM! Vision hit, and it was a vision of Christ on the cross…very gruesome…visceral…UGLY! It was terrifying! It was Jesus as a man. In a real and visceral way, the message was “skip Christ…skip savior (this was not savior-ing thing)…skip all the mystical stuff! This is the Man, Jesus…The human.”

The problem I was facing was something that invoked a great amount of fear and a great amount of risk. I won’t go into it, but no one should have to deal with this sorta shit in a profession like nursing, but it happens anyway. During that vision, a voice spoke very simply and plainly…”Are you willing to die for this.”

OH MY F*****G GOD! ARE YOU F*****G KIDDING ME? “No, this is not joking. Are you willing to die for this thing…for this belief you have…because people are telling you that if you do this thing, you are in danger of dying. And it’s possible in your situation. It’s happened before or people wouldn’t have said what they said would happen if you do this thing.”

Am I willing to die for what I believe?…was I? After two days of stressing and getting awful repeats of this damn vision, I went ahead and did what I was obligated to do as a nurse in this awful place. I didn’t have to, but I also didn’t want to be a hypocrite, and I didn’t want to be a coward because this place was too full of darkness and fear!

The worst that happened to me was that I was mocked, and I reported that. All mocking stopped. And the worst that I was told that could happen never did happen. I did my duty! Sometimes there is great consequence for doing our duty!

Scripture in religion is good allegory. Religion is a template to help people along, but when it becomes dogmatic…It’s time to move on and evolve a bit. Religious visions inspire us to find our strength in faith (not knowing one way or the other what may happen, but we do what needs to be done anyway because we are called to it…and we DO have choice about it…dont’ got to follow no damn vision if you don’t wanna because there’s still a lesson to learn…something personal to gain from it).

I agree with every thing you said, Maria. I’m really glad you brought it up. I’ve had a lot of “insights” since my “Wake up.” But I think the most important one I’d like to share for those that feel any kind of resistance to what is brought up here is this: God helps all people by giving to us every thing we will ever need to do what ever we are meant to do. He/she gives it by what gifts our soul extends us, by and through our wonderful ego that keeps us safe in this physical world…She/He gives it in the very nature of all the creation we live within weather we are aware of it or not. Creation is vast, Maria….so…ineffably vast.

I remember in nursing school, I had to take a number of science courses. My microbiology book (with lab materials, handouts etc) alone probably had more pages on single cells then the whole bible. At some point, I wondered about this. How is it this one subject in college could account for more information amassed over time (and still amassing) to fill ten bibles or more on just Single cells in a body for the benefit of understanding disease…how our bodies work etc, and this Single bible…this small book is supposed to have all the information I need to save my soul, give me eternal life and…what???

You know…when those first Christian really got into their “Religion,” they burned lifetimes and lifetimes of human history…wisdom…knowledge…OMG! And they killed for it…killed over and over for centuries!!!

Christ said, “Go…and ‘sin’ no more.” Sin means—to miss the mark…to miss the point. To “Sin” is to remain ignorant after you come to know!

OMG…religion can miss the mark big time!! But…I think it can also be a means to an end if you “Get it…” and keep moving on to…Not so much “Search” more…but learn more and be the best human you can be for doing so.

Sorry…I Wrote a lot, but this particular topic you bring up…WOW! it’s incredibly fascinating! And you really know how to put it out there!!

    • Ha, Ian, I figured it was timely to gin up the topic of religion, since we made it safely through politics in the last round. Lol.

Fascinating about your vision of Christ, and his message to you….and then how you used that inspiration to go forward. And, yes, he was very human. There is so much about his life that wasn’t told in the Bible. That he was filled with doubt, guilt, and he was lost for a long time, himself. He felt abandoned by god. He lost his family. And it wasn’t until he let go of his traditional teaching role (he was training to teach religious rules and doctrines of the day) that he finally found self acceptance and self love.

His real teaching was about love of self, and it’s why he was criticized and ultimately killed. Many of us were there with him, and we are now carrying out his work, in spreading the seeds of Christ Consciousness.

But his message to us now is, I believe, “don’t do it my way. Martyrdom gets you nowhere. It was a very different time then.” I believe he is telling all of us, “Take yourself off the cross!”

  3. Oh MARIA! INDEED! YES! That very same message was part of my vision, too! Being a Martyr! It is exactly…I MEAN EXACTLY as you say. Christ went through this crucifixion! AND IT NEVER HAD TO BE! It DID happen, Yes…but “The point” was it didn’t have to be that way.

I wonder if Christianity (and any other powerful religious template out there that’s from “Ancient” times) isn’t still hanging around because their messages were/are so powerful as to continue to reverberate even now…because humanity is still so full of “Sin” (Missing the point) that until we “Get it” it’s going to continue. Religion will continue until we no longer need it to spark the soul into actions needed to bring harmony. Religion is actually quite confining once you move past any benefit it might have.

It can be a good source of morality training, it can be an outline by which to take essential steps in being a good person. It can offer a person good challenges to test human spirit. That said, I don’t think it’s a good template for running human spirit through life’s work in the long haul without the benefit ultimately being stifled and human growth and human spirit becoming stagnant and we loose a lot of potential for “More.”

I mean…if any have ever been a boy or Girl Scout (they gotta lot of tasks and rules to “Live” by and be proved by) then they know they don’t stay in the “Club” their whole lives. They “Grow Up” and go on to lead strong and confident lives. It’s a good foundation…but they gotta build something on top of it to; make good use of it.

I think that is the point of it.

Thanks Maria…thanks so much for your insights…and your deep wisdom!

  4. In my opinion, Politics and Religion go hand in hand! Always have. And when THEY don’t agree…it gets really really ugly. I’m remembering the religious right back during the AIDS epidemic. UGLY UGLY! Today…there is the “Liberal Right.” It’s also ugly…and so is any opposition in it’s ugly responses. “The wheels on the bus go round and round…”

There is meaning (here is the role of “spirituality”). Through animating spirit, the soul inspires us to see/find the meaning of it all…and do better in this very human life – become better human beings. Spirituality somehow transcends religion and politics even as it, too may be part of these if we allow it to be so, but often politics and religion are only the venue through which we get to the “Starting line.” How odd, funny and ironic? Politics and religion can be a means to an end, but really that’s all they can be. I wish we could see them for the means to the exalted end that they are: A gorgeous beautiful planet where in…true “love” reigns which is not to say oblivion and blissed out for no good reason, but rather…”Love” which to me means life in harmony and balance in a conscious way…purposeful balance shared together. Sounds like the makings of a new Beatles song. I just loved the Beatles! LOL

I think All the “Light” avatars have been working towards this. They were all inspired by their faith…and then they innovated and evolved and always sought to bring people up…bring humanity higher than it was before. “Further on and further up.”

They shined their light despite the darkness. How fortunate we are that we may be heretics in this day and age. “Freedom of speech” and all. Proof that it’s getting better, and still…look at what more we must face?

Still…relatively speaking…we are not typically stoned for prostitution anymore, and we may speak of the soul, spirit…use any defining words to give idea to what soul speaks, and we may endeavor to animate what actions we feel will contribute to the “Pursuit of [our] happiness” providing we do not inhibit others by any great degree (most of the time). No more witch trials! We got Santa Maria stores in every major city…and astrology forecasts next to the movie schedules, and no one knocking on our doors asking us to come be tried for witchcraft, devil worship…consorting with evil spirits!

We have SO MUCH FURTHER TO GO! WE HAVE A LOT MORE WORK TO DO! And…we’ve come a long way, too.

Thanks for the blessing that you are, Maria.

  5. Oh…and I really enjoyed that song! Yep…THAT what it says!!!

I’m waiting for my door bell to ring and upon opening might see a pyre of many sticks…or a gallos with a noose (shiver). NOT!!!!!!! HA HA HA!

    We’ve come a long way!
