In Honor of Mutu

There was a period of my life, as an artist, that I began producing African figures,  mostly female.  They were drawings for the most part, but there were also some paintings, and three dimensional images.  The were strong women, androgynous and self-contained.  I was intrigued by them, since I am not African, or African-American.  I decided to get a reading from a reputable woman, and I was astounded.

Interestingly, she channeled an African character by the name of Bhuso.  He told me that I lived a life in South Africa over 2000 years ago.  That I was a much wanted daughter of the Chief of a Tribe.  As I matured it became clear that I had a wisdom and spiritual focus, and I advised the Elders as to the best way for my Tribe to live in harmony with each other and with nature.

Bhuso also said I had a beloved grandfather in the tribe that I nicknamed Mutu.  And that he has been with me throughout many lifetimes.  That Mutu prompted me to get the reading, and is with me in spirit in this lifetime as a guide.  He is here to assist me on my spiritual journey.

The reading took place almost twenty years ago.  Since then I sense that my beloved grandfather and spiritual guide, Mutu has moved on, knowing that now I must access and rely upon my own Soul as I journey forward in my ascension process.

While I can’t recall on a conscious level that lifetime in Africa, I feel a deep connection to the portraits I have created, as portals to the wisdom of my own Soul.

I also honor and thank and extend many blessings to my beloved Grandfather and friend, Mutu, for his love and guidance.  Until we meet again.

ahhh Maria… i love that you posted this! i actually have thought this exact thing several times that your African theme portraits of females felt like self-soul-portraits. 🤗 i almost asked once if that was true, but decided not to because i thought it might sound like a weird question haha

love that you shared this because the energy of that personal connection you feel to them radiates from them 🤗🤗🤗

    1. Oh, thank you so much, sweet pea…that’s so nice to hear….when I was creating them it never occurred to me that they were a connection to that lifetime in particular. But, anyway, your instincts are spot on!!! 😍
