Many of us feel less willing to compromise our joy, even if we have to face our deepest fears, and those pesky survival issues. We are less and less doing things from a sense of obligation, or duty. Even if we don’t know exactly what we want to do, even if we feel passionless, we prefer that state than being engaged in anything we are just not excited about.
MEANWHILE, IN THE 3D WORLD, THE CROWD CHEERED…..
The crowd cheered for their own subjugation. They believed in a leader that pretended he was one of them. He warned them of an unsafe future and the evils of ‘socialism.’ He promised them a government that would not interfere with their lives.
But he didn’t mention that their lives would continue to be controlled even more by pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, banks and corporations. That they would have to work 2 to 3 jobs just to pay for health insurance that would not accept pre-existing conditions.
He promised them that he would make sure the government would not control their lives, except for women’s lives and bodies. And of course he did not mention that his loosening of government control would give big industries permission to poison their air and water and land. He also did not mention that they or their children would be buried in student loan debt for their entire lives.
A recent poll showed that almost 80% of Americans want universal healthcare. And more than 70 percent want big corporate and private money, both domestic and foreign, out of politics. That poll includes people who voted for Trump.
So why would these people, average American citizens who work for a living support so fervently a President who is clearly not one of them? Who claims to hate the elites yet at the same time is the epitome of one. Who is so clearly serving his own best interests. He and his established administration of millionaires and billionaires who have no sense of what the average citizen experiences. Wouldn’t it be more logical for them to vote for someone who has their real best interests at heart? Who really wants them to thrive? Instead of someone who is interested in making the rich richer and has disdain for the poor?
Why would they vote for someone who wants to systematically erode their social safety net programs? Wouldn’t they want to cheer for someone who wants to protect them in their old age? So that they can retire with dignity?
They are not voting from a place of logic. They are voting from their emotional center. From fear. So much fear that they believe in the imaginary enemies that are painted by authoritarian leaders.
People have compromised for so long that over time, the political systems and governments reflected that compromise. Then, over time, people lost trust in their government and politicians.
But there have always been those who allowed their own irrational fears to dictate who they would cast their vote for. They know he is corrupt, and dishonest. Aren’t all politicians, they tell themselves. But, they tell themselves, at least this one will protect them from losing their sense of identity. Even if it costs them the farm.
IT ‘S A TIME OF RECKONING
There has emerged a new breed of progressives who are not mincing words anymore. They are standing up like never before to the Conservatives and even to the establishment politicians of their own party.
These new progressives are characterized as radicals, yet ironically their policies are in line with the majority of the population, including the conservatives. It’s interesting that they are called radical by those whose own policies are actually very unpopular and quite radical, except to a few wealthy elite.
And they are demonized even by those in their own political party.
It’s no different from many calling feminists radical even though they represent what the majority of women, and even men want…..their basic human rights to be respected.
So many women fervently oppose feminism while forgetting that it was feminists that made it possible for them to vote, to own land, to be in politics, to have their own bank account, to have custody of their own children, to be protected from sexual abuse, spousal rape, to have an abortion, and many other benefits.
It’s fascinating that people, from a place of fear, fear of change, will vote against their own best interests. This includes men who fear women’s progress, and women who support those men. It’s common sense that if women succeed, it assists men.
THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN
So if the majority of the population, according to polls, are wanting a higher minimum wage, free healthcare, free education, protection for their human rights, better gun laws, environmental protections, and getting corporate donors out of politics entirely…..why do they not have a government that represents those people?
Why instead do they seem to be ruled by those in government who are primarily interested in their own self-enrichment at the expense of what is best for the majority of the population?
How did they end up with a President who is the biggest grifter and con-artist in political history? Who, in fact embraces a fascist, white supremacist ideology?
I would venture that it’s because people make too many compromises. They compromise their integrity every day, in every way. In relationships, in jobs. They compromise their freedom and their joy in order to feel safe.
The right-wing conservative thinkers, especially those who support authoritarian leaders, feel the world is unsafe, and is not comfortable with diversity. So they favor policies that oppress immigrants, women, people of color, gays, and even the poor. They are very protective of their piece of the pie and worry others are trying to take it from them. They want the ability to access guns easily to protect themselves from an enemy, maybe even from a government that they fear will eventually bang down their door.
They most definitely want a big, strong wall.
But even the more liberal thinker is concerned that if they rock the boat and demand change, they will be at risk. They may end up losing everything unless they continue compromising with the conservatives. So they just lump along accepting a mediocre experience. It’s the devil they know.
And, then it’s no surprise they were not finding too many politicians that are representative of their true values. They vote for establishment Democratic candidates who are also willing to compromise their integrity and the democracy itself for wealth from corporate and private interest donors. As long as they continue doing their donors’ bidding.
Hopefully the majority of the population will begin to trust those rare candidates who actually are passionate about the issues that face the majority of the people. Because those rare candidates are becoming more present, and they are not compromising.
The lack of trust in the system is understandable. But the answer isn’t in continuing to compromise.
People like to argue that free healthcare for all is not economically practical. But in reality it will save two trillion dollars for the national economy. But, then, those who argue against it have the most to lose from big insurance company donors.
But why are average citizens reluctant to support the candidate that endorses free healthcare? Because they are afraid if they do not compromise on this important issue, they will lose what little they already have.
Except that attitude is a losing proposition. Because the Conservative party, in these times, has no interest in compromising, and unless the progressive agenda is demanded, nothing really changes. These are extraordinary times, and milktoast politics isn’t working.
We are seeing more and more progressives winning political seats from Republicans and establishment Democrats. And more women, and women of diversity are winning seats like never before.
This should be encouraging news for a nation that has, from its inception, consistently pushed women down below the bottom rung as far as civil and human rights go. The pendulum is shifting.
The reality is that corruption, human rights and financial conditions have to get pretty stark before people decide that it’s worth the risk, that maybe it’s time for some real ‘radical’ and uncompromising change.
In the 3D world social reform sometimes comes on the heels of a sinking economy. It’s where people are hit the hardest. But it also come from the erosion of basic human rights and a loss of dignity.
Even in a so-called wealthy nation like America, people from every political party will eventually wake up to the reality that the system is not working. At least, not for them.
Compromising personal freedom for what they perceive as security can go only so far.
NOW, BACK TO US…..
We are no longer of that 3D world. A duality consciousness. As you know, I like to bring into the discussion the political landscape to make parallels to where we are as front-runners of the new consciousness.
Those of us who have awakened have discovered that compromising is getting more and more painful. We notice that our Soul isn’t really willing to compromise its joy for anyone or anything.
And, as with our more liberal, progressive thinkers in 3D, we are coming to a point where we are willing to lose the farm (haven’t we lost lots of things already?) and trust our Soul, if that’s what it takes to step into our freedom.
Freedom is, as once famously stated, another word for nothing left to lose. And whatever we did lose was no longer serving us.
TABLES HAVE TURNED
Our awakened state, once seen as radical, will be embraced more and more by those who did not trust that there could be a new way. We can be called the progressives of consciousness. Once seen as radical, once not trusted, our state of consciousness is going to become more mainstream.
And I’m not talking about spirituality, esoteric studies, or the new age. The new consciousness is beyond all of that. It’s about a balance of human and divine. Human and Soul. Masculine and Feminine working in co-operation with each other. And it’s about the true meaning of love, which must begin with self-love.
An uncompromising, unapologetic, unconditional, radical self-love.
JUST SURVIVING, OR THRIVING?
Once upon a time we had to fit into a world that made no sense. A world that saw us as crazy. Now, that world is going to have to adapt to our consciousness.
No, it’s not happening over night. These things take time. But we see in 3D that the so-called radical progressives are getting a foothold politically like never before. And, as it turns out, they are not the scary, evil socialists that politicians like to paint.
Same for us. At some point we are no longer going to be seen as those crazy, radical, selfish, unrealistic, irresponsible ones.
In 3D, the progressives are seen by many as being impractical, as being too idealistic.
But the mainstream way of approaching life isn’t working very well, and people are willing to move out of their comfort zones and listen to another perspective.
When it comes to those of us on the forefront of the new consciousness, we are not willing to compromise. Whether it’s a job, a relationship, or a stray thought, we are less willing to support anything that contributes to a mediocre, middle of the road existence.
In the new consciousness, it’s not about just surviving. It’s all about thriving.
