So this morning I said to myself, let’s go to that new coffee house we read about.  It replaced a Starbucks that had been there for years.  And, it’s not a Starbucks! It’s Sunday, and there won’t be much traffic, so, why not?  Let’s shake it up a bit.

In my younger years I would not blink twice before taking off on a long road trip.  Often I didn’t even know where I was headed.

Hmmm.  Kind of like now, with this embodied enlightenment thing, eh?

But back then, I would drive down an open highway, or take back roads and see where it took me.  I was often pleasantly surprised with a unique town, village, diner or cafe.  Of course back then roads weren’t nearly as congested.

So I’ve noticed that over the past couple of years I am less inclined to be as adventurous.  I notice I’ve carved out a nice little daily ritual that seems to work for me.

I can attribute it to getting older, and not wanting to take as many risks.  But then I have to remind myself that I am, along with a few other courageous souls, taking the biggest risk and adventure a human can, giving permission to awaken.

But meanwhile, this morning I decided to move past my resistance and try out the new place.  It was disappointing.  The build-up was much more enticing.  Granted there were picturesque town homes, tree-lined streets sprinkled with restaurants, a bakery, and a couple of boutiques.

It was actually a little too on the nose.  I could have sworn that a squirrel climbing a tree was automated.  I don’t know about you, but robot squirrels make me uneasy.

I ordered a coffee, which turned out to be medium roast.  That’s right.  No dark roast available.  O.K., this town needs an e***a.   And the barista looked like I was keeping her from her nap.

There was no ambiance to speak of.  The decor was safari meets 1930s, with large steamer trunks and wood floors.  But again, didn’t quite succeed.  There was something not quite authentic about it.

You can say what you want about Starbucks, that it’s corporate, but at least for me, it feels like it’s not trying to be something it isn’t.

And, isn’t that where we are headed in this whole transformation process?  We are being stripped down, often unceremoniously, to our authentic selves.

But I’m glad I went, in spite of the suspicious squirrel, and the mediocre coffee.  It helped me to appreciate my neck of the woods.  In spite of saying many times that I like my anonymity, I do appreciate that the baristas in my Starbucks acknowledge me, and always seem happy to see me.

And, as far as I know, none of them has spit in my coffee.  I always make it a point to ingratiate myself to my baristas.

And yet, for the most part, except for some chatting it up with other patrons I have gotten to know, I am left to do my writing and coffee sipping alone.  Just the way I likes it.

But I think coming to the same place every day does give me a sense of community that is otherwise not available.  Especially as I move further and further from any connection with mass consciousness.

So we each have our own rituals that give us a sense of comfort, and we need to honor them.  Especially as we navigate what feels like such an unpredictable new energy.

With the ascension shifts I find I can’t last long out in any cafes. I have become so over sensitive that the noise etc really bothers me. I don’t eat what others do either now if I was to go to lunch with someone. I have deserted anywhere with long tables in the past too. I have been more a one to one person. So,if I went to coffee places or eateries, it was to catch up with someone in a more personal way. Being squashed on communal tables where everyone can hear you doesn’t fit the sharing of personal stuff.
I have become a community of one, or part of the invisible spiritual global community. Very occasionally I have an old acquaintance come to me for coffee. Otherwise it is short chats and nods to people around the neighbourhood when I go for my regular walks. It always feels like strangers and brothers Andrade friends anyway, even in short exchanges and smiles.
I also can’t push myself to go any distance in the car because my mind can be floating somewhere and it’s harder to stay focused driving for any long time. This becomes a self perpetuating thing as I have now got so used to this way of being that it’s even harder to try to push myself. However I don’t think pushing ourselves is what it’s about now anyway.
As a side note, Starbucks have battled to establish in Australia I gather- even though they have managed it elsewhere. They are now focusing on a stripped down operation in tourist centres. Analysis of this says it because we are already a nation of coffee drinkiers with particular tastes. We had big Italian and Greek influxes and our coffee is more their European style. We like stronger espresso tastes and find US coffee too sweet.

    1. I am Greek and Italian descent, so maybe it’s why I love dark roasts and espresso. Around here Starbucks is pretty much the only game in town for the rich, almost bitter dark roasts that I favor.

And I agree this whole awakening thing is all about no longer pushing ourselves to do things we just are not enjoying.

And for each of it’s unique. Ther is no one size fits all. And there is certainly no right or wrong. There was a time when I loved the single table, and I still do from time to time. It’s kind of an ebb and flow of whatever feels good in the moment.

I enjoy my solitary lifestyle, and I don’t see that changing very much. And what I like about the cafe community is that I can enjoy some interaction, some good coffee, and I can go home alone afterward.

No strings, no obligations, and good boundaries.

Some additional thoughts.. A Course in Miracles states bluntly ‘There is no world’ ie we experience personal versions or projections based on our consciousness.
So to your experience. If you see it as metaphor or ‘outside’ feedback… When you travelled in to a 3D world ‘beyond’ you, it was shadowy and you couldn’t connect. It was old (1930s style) and sort of automated with the squirrel rather than ‘real’. Perhaps it was inner feedback about your needs being met where you are and no longer needing to seek them out???
I used to relate to the Tobias channels by Geoffrey Hope before the word Ascension ever began appearing. He talked of the multidimensional paradigm shift coming. He said it was like in linear terms we had been on a single road. When we wanted to experience something, we referred to what had gone before to decide what we wanted. Our imagined needs were always based on the past and therefor limited and based on old fears, lacks and what we knew.
We then imagined that experience in the future and plotted a course from here to there.
He said this was going to change with multidimensionaity. Everything would come to us. It was like there were many roads running through us, and what we wanted would come to our Now Moment. We wouldn’t decide what we needed based on the past but would allow new possibilities from the whole of the multidimensionality.
So, we don’t really need to push ourselves or go beyond under that model. Actually there is no ‘out there ‘ or ‘beyond’ to osh to either.
I was also thinking of the movie Pleasantville (which to me beautifully depicted the emptiness and constriction of the 1950s I came into). They talked of a world outside the town which explorers had gone to. However when they tried to leave the town they found the edges were shadowy and unreal. There was no outside: just the story they were inside based on their limiting beliefs and blocks.

  4. Lyn, I really like your interpretation of my little excursion to the new cafe.

And, regarding Tobias, I agree, it comes to us. Tobias, and then later, Adamus talked about time and space moving through us, not the other way around, it does change the way we thought things worked. Being multidimensional means also that we can enjoy more than one dimension. We can be in 3D, while also being in a 5 D consciousness.

And, it does boggle the mind, because until we experience it, it’s just a nice concept. So now we have an opportunity to have it all. To experience the sensual aspects of a 3D reality through not only our human senses, but through our enhanced multidimensional self.

It brings new meaning to the concept of getting high on life.

And I agree with what you say about our human needs are based on fear and on what our mind knows from it’s past experiences. Which is why now we are making more and more choices based on the joy of our soul, and not on fear. Life becomes so much richer when we live without those old fears motivating us.

Thanks for the timely thoughts. From this post and the last it seems many of us are sitting in a ‘semi-bored what next’ zone. Your experience underlines that trying to do versions of things that worked in the past,, or pushing ourselves, isn’t a solution to this.

What a fun story! It’s always nice to venture out and try something new. And if new isn’t what you hoped for then you still got love where you started from.

I have a relative that works at Starbucks. She is a full time student, and Starbucks pays student tuition for on line courses at ASU through under graduate.

Starbucks is as you say; corporate. But they have a very customer centered business model that is pretty detailed as a whole company. Barring any bad apples, it always seems to have everything we have come to want in coffee.

Great story. I gave up on ascension aspirations. Seems like there came a time when even that was troubling, worrisome and cuarelsome. Who needs it.! Got my eternal soul with me every second. Everything I need is right there.

    1. Thanks BD. I love your story, too, about Starbucks, and your take on ascension.

First, I agree that Starbucks does do well by its employees compared to other customer centered businesses. I’ve spent endless hours and money at them for years and it’s been a rare experience when I didn’t feel welcome.

I too have felt they have their act together in terms of service, ambiance, and coffee.

And, you say, “I gave up on ascension aspirations…”. I say, Bravo! And you go on to say, “Got my eternal soul with me every second. Everything I need is right there.”

      Thank you! 💕

“giving permission to awaken.” yes! but I have to say, sometimes I just don’t feel like i’m yet allowing my human self to enjoy the closeness I feel now as a soul.. but at least I’m doing what I can with what I have. And that means infinite love and compassion for the road so far. Or at least I feel so.. sometimes..! thank you Dear friend. Your words have the power of love and understanding. Sending you love always. ♥

    1. Tainara, well put, about your human self and your soul. It takes time to develop that relationship. Meanwhile it can feel a bit empty, having let go of so much and still not feeling our soul’s presence the way we would like to.

And then there’s the challenge of no trying, just allowing.

And I thank you too dear friend, for being here and shining your light! 💜
